The Wall and Cavern

we're quite dissimilar after all
you're two dimensional, you're a wall
you're shallow and you're thin, quite unlike the one in Berlin
when east met west, the wall did fall

one side was painted, the other was grey
hardened and naked, guarded by day
it took a fool to get close, naive to the danger
shot by the guards, spilled blood for a wager

if you are a wall than I am a cavern
twisting through shadows with light to return
the echos may fade but I'm still full of song
no use for defences, my insides are strong

I refuse to be fearful, I refuse to withdraw

for love is abundant to transcend all despair
but we must cultivate it, must be willing to share
