Ain't Free
02:35
|
|||
What do you need that ain't free?
What do you need that ain't free?
The sun and the stars,
The wind and the sea,
The hills and the valleys,
The birds and the bees,
The look in your eye when you see the rain.
What do you need that ain't free?
What do you need that ain't free?
A path and a purpose,
A life and a dream,
A friend and a lover,
A nice cup of tea,
The look in your eye when you see the rain
What do you need to be free?
What do you need to be free?
A voice and an option, a door with no key
A thirst and a hunger, a right just to be
The look in your eye....

Little Piece
02:45
|
|||
I want you for your heartbeat,
I want you for your pulse.
I want you for your creases,
All the corners of your soul.
I'm no stranger to darkness,
I welcome it all...
Honest blood quickens,
A silence that's false...
I want you for your conscience,
I like the things you know.
I want you for your sprit,
I want you for your sound.
From your voice to your fingers,
I know what I've found -
No rest for the wicked,
No rest for the wise...
I want you for your laughter,
I want you for your face.
I want to see you smile,
Cause I like the way it tastes.
There's no use in pretending,
I'm already yours...
...If you'll have me
Imagine there's no mountains,
Imagine there's no valleys,
Imagine there's no rivers and streams,
Imagine it's the end.

Pin Me Down
02:47
|
|||
Pin me down, cause I won't settle.
Take a look around, can't keep me in.
I will shout beyond my cage you cannot gag me,
Words from my lips can travel further than your wit.
Will you say 'just followin' orders?'
Will your excuse be that you didnt know?
Fill in the space between the lines,
Ignorance ain't bliss, it's hit and miss.
We fail to recognize the genocide,
We close our eyes, our hearts and minds.
It is not possible to halt all suffering,
Should we even try..?
If it were I, would you try?
Or make divides, as us and other?
Rise above your wants and fears
And see that you and I are brothers.

Wall and Cavern
03:09
|
|||
We're quite dissimilar after all,
You're two dimensional, you're a wall.
You're shallow and you're thin, quite unlike the one in Berlin,
When east met west, the wall did fall.
One side was painted, the other was grey,
Hardened and naked, guarded by day.
It took a fool to get close, naive to the danger,
Shot by the guards, spilled blood for a wager.
If you are a wall than I am a cavern,
Twisting through shadows with light to return.
The echos may fade but I'm still full of song,
No use for defenses, my insides are strong.
I refuse to be fearful, I refuse to withdraw,
No regret once rejected, better burned then left raw...
For love is abundant to transcend all despair,
But we must cultivate it, must be willing to share.
There's no excuse to be lonely, we make our own vacancies,
Longing can empty our minds of our peace.
The flesh is both burden and temptation,
Success so ugly, breeding infatuation...
The human race cannot be won.
Are you chasing the bait, are you fleeing the gun?
Will you stand tall, high enough to exclude me?
I refuse to climb, and just pretend to be free...

I See Beauty
05:07
|
|||
I want you to know
I see beauty in you
I need you to see
How much more we can be
I'm willing and able
To hold out a hand
Will you stand up and join me
Will you fight til the end?
But who are we fighting?
What's our weapon of choice?
Cast bullets of music
Shoot them with our voice
I want you to know
That there's ugliness too
I need you to see
That we have the key
Its not that we're stupid
And its not that we're mean
But caring ain't simple
Scope is overwhelming
If we keep marching blindly
We'll almost certainly fall
If we start building bridges
It will be better for all
Cause how did we get here?
Did someone give you a hand?
A mother that loved you,
A friend that had your back
We all breath and die
Pain gets passed around
We can turn the tied
One face at a time
I want you to know
I see beauty in you
I need you to see
How much more we can be
If we keep marching blindly
We'll almost certainly fall
If we start building bridges
It will be better for all

The Fool
02:54
|
|||
I'm a fool cause I'm living, I'm a fool cause I dream,
Believe in making changes, rid the foul and the obscene,
I'd walk an extra mile to recycle a can,
Rid of extra pleasures for the better man...
Reality has been trying to chase me,
Lack of originality, probably would be best.
I'll shed some light by these four strings,
Show you your neighbors, across the sea.
I'm a fool cause I'm trying, I'm a fool cause I see,
I take on other's problems, silly vulnerable me...
We'd all have enough if each took a little less
Rid your heart of desire for fictional bliss....
Reality has been trying to chase me,
Lack of originality, probably would be best.
I don't deserve what I haven't earned,
Resolved to sweat til the very end.
I'm a fool, cause I'm open to your pain,
I'm a fool, cause your world is so insane.
We've shut ourselves in, and turned our eyes away,
But life ain't about surviving, it's about dancing in the rain....
I'm a fool.

Farewell to Nova Scotia
03:03
|

Farewell to Nova Scotia the sea-bound coast,
Let your mountains dark and dreary be,
When I’m far away, on the briny ocean tossed,
Will you ever heave a sigh or a wish for me?
The sun was setting in the West
The birds were singing on every tree
All nature seemed to be at rest
But, alas, there was no rest for me.
I grieve to leave my native home
I grieve to leave my comrades all
And my parents whom I hold so dear
And the bonny, bonny lass that I do adore.
Farewell to Nova Scotia the sea-bound coast,
Let your mountains dark and dreary be,
When I’m far away, on the briny ocean tossed,
Will you ever heave a sigh or a wish for me?
The drums do beat and the horns do alarm
My captain calls; I must obey
Farewell, farewell, to Nova Scotia’s charm
For it’s early in the morning I am bound far away
I have two brothers and they are at rest.
Their hands are folded on their chest.
But a poor and simple sailor just like me
Must be tossed and turned on the deep, dark sea.
Farewell to Nova Scotia the sea-bound coast,
Let your mountains dark and dreary be,
When I’m far away, on the briny ocean tossed,
Will you ever heave a sigh or a wish for me?
